Last year at this time when I still had my gorgeous long tail feathers
(lovely aren't they?!)
My Nutmeg Brown colours
seemed to be more pronounced and obvious
in the setting sun.
On the eastern side we were so fortunate to witness this sky
this darkened steel grey/blue expanse.
Even dashing through the snow along the top of the hill
my coat picked up the last rays of sun.
With the exact calmness of the heavens and
the curtain slowly descending
I homed in on something...
with nose fully engaged
I dropped Mr. Bionic
but alas it must have been the remnants
the last vestiges
of some doggy visit
from the summer...
sigh!
Such is my life of seek and discovery.
Gazing into the distance
as the sun creeps slowly
into sea
leaving us behind....
I know that soon very soon
I will be laying my chocolate brown nutmeg blond head
on my soft bed
I trust everyone will be relaxing
with their loved ones,
all curled up
just like me.
At this time
I want to wish everyone a
HAPPY DOODLE NEW YEAR
and
ALL THE BEST in 2013!!
How peaceful and beautiful
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Yes it was and we were the only ones there...so natures sounds and colours were that much more enjoyed!
DeleteSophie, you are so beautiful, at the beach, on the snow, that must have been a cold day, and then the grey sky behind, a perfect backdrop for you . New Year wishes for health, happiness, golden days at your favourite place, and 2 Dads to look after you. Greetings from Jean
ReplyDeleteAll the best to everyone in your family Jean....you'll be into next year before us...always that way isn't it?! Cheers for a great 2013!
DeleteSophie Mr.Orange looks so good in the snow. Have fun and get down in it for a good roll for me. Here we have endless rain. My park is The Somme and I have trench paw. Have a super Sunday too.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hi Ho Molly-O...This is Mr. Bionic this time, slightly different than Mr. Orangie but hey who cares when you have something to chew all the time!Take care of your paw, snookums!

Murphy & Stanley
Pee Ess - Have you noticed we have not whined about the WV being on? It is so hard though . . . Just sayin' . . . not whining . . . OK, maybe just a bit . . .
Sorry Murphy & Stanley...
DeleteDaddy had to go back to W.V. because he was inundated with spam, unbelievable amount! Alas, those that make it difficult for others create problems for my friends. Please be patient and keep clicking the next button until your Momma can see the numbers. Daddy understands completely the problem because he can't see the numbers of letters himself.
With all this...do have a great New Years and all the best in 2013!
Hi! Hope you are not freezing....dont you have a nice jacket?
ReplyDeleteHave a great Happy New Year!!
Actually, this year my hair is longer, much longer than last year at this point. They say hair length really has nothing to do with warmth. Sophie is staring out the window right now, listening to an ambulance going by. I hope everything OK out there in the snow and rain!
Deletehappy New Year to all of you!
What a lovely poetic post. Happy New Year to you and your Daddies, Sophie. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi lily...so happy to hear from you....Have a Happy 2013!!!!!!!

SharonDoodle...I licked, I mean I liked that one too....so calm, yet dramatic! Happy 2013!
DeleteEvery time I think I've seen the best photos, you post another lovely set. These images are spectacular! And they have such a calm and peaceful feeling to them. Remarkable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha...I was skipping through my photos from 2011 Dec and came upon these. I couldn't remember if I had posted them...checked posts from around that time and there was nothing so....I decided to use them. I can remember saying that the colours and drama seemed so prominent and that these would make a good post. I can't believe it took a year.
DeleteHappy 2013!!!
Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots!
Princess Sophie, we wish you and your dads a Wonderfull New Year!
All the best in the world!

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to all.
It just flowed out of my Dad...sometimes he gets all heady!
DeleteHappy 2013 Terry and David...and Micky too!
You are the most eloquent dog I know, Sophie! What a lovely winter day to go on a walk by the ocean. It looks like a raw cold though. Brrr! Enjoy snuggling with your dads. My guy is engrossed in his third football game today. That's a little more than I can handle even if the male scenery is spectacular at times! Happy evening to you! Very shortly I'm going to write another post, and I'm mentioning you in it! Hee! Hee! RUN!!
ReplyDeleteI just read your post a la MOI included....such a Colorado/Nova Scotian sweet heart you are! Now be careful of dem Aliens!!!
DeleteHappy 2013....waiting for more stories to fill in all the time between 1964 and 2013!!!!! Is that pressure or what!
Regards Sophie and Sophie's Valley dad!
It's a good thing I retired! A little pressure, but I can handle it!
DeleteI can't tell you how much fun it has been to reconnect with Ron and to meet you and Jim.
That's what is exciting about life!
You never know what wonderful thing is waiting for you just around the corner.
With a snow white and steel grey back drop, the colours explode off your fur with such beauty, highlighted by the setting sun.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable timing~~~~so rich and warm!
DeleteHappy New Year GUYS and Pugsley!
Happy New Year Sophie! I thought that was Mr. Orangie. Mr. Bionic, eh? I must have missed that post. Great pictures!!
ReplyDeleteThat's OK Bobbi...Mr. Bionic is a bit harder to chew with no forgivance(is that a word?) I like what happens with Mr. Bionic...the light is caught in the orange material and seems to glow...all depending upon the angle of Sophie's grip and the sun. She much prefers Mr. Orangie but I know when the sunlight is right then the orange glow is going to be just right~~~~thus Mr. Bionic wakes up and comes out to visit!
DeleteHappy New Year everyone!!!
Sophie & Family

DeleteHello Sophie,
ReplyDeletePlease tell Ron that "chocolate brown, nutmeg, blond" is about the most colourfully descriptive and apt choice of words possible to portray your loveliness. These photos are a delight as are you! I hope you and he have the most deliciously flavourful 2013 any man or beast (in the best sense of the word) could ever ask for!
Amen sister....milkbones ALWAYS do the trick for this CHOCOLATEBROWNNUTMEGBLOND!!!
