Beautiful images of you playing in the snow, Sophie. You bring to mind all the fun I had as a child during the winter. After all that running around, you probably built up an appetite. Hey, why don't you come on over and I'll share my cheesecake with you! Just getting ready to cut it...mmmm...mmmm....
C-H-E-E-S-E-CAKE! yOU SaId CHEESECAKE ~~~~ I Love CHEESECAKE!!
Seriously if I had wings ~~~ if only I had wings!!!
Bright blue skies, refreshing crisp clear weather ~~~ no wonder I'm flipping all over the place ~~~ and as for being a child ~~~ well ~~~ everyone needs to remember their most favourite childhood moment now and again and if I can do that for you ~~~ smiles then!!
The snow was so exciting today and if you guys had been there with me ~~~ well ~~~ you could just imagine all the zoooooooming we'd do and all the snowballs on our feet. My Dads are cluing in as to how long I should stay out when these danged snowballs start forming on my tootsies!! Not very long ~~~ BTW!
Lovely words that suit the scenes so well.Glad you came through the bad stuff OK, and it is safe to go out " in the woods today". Greetings to all, from Jean.
You and Ron share your love of play so freely.. it brings out the fun in all of us, I think. I'd say you, A.A.Milne and Ron are kindred spirits :) A little birdie told me that Ron has a bit of a cold. Wish him well for us, okay Sophie?
I love these quotes... last year's especially. But, I have to admit (well, don't have to and I probably shouldn't...) but I did a double-take. Thought Tigger was doing a "Pooh" in one photo.
February is snow time here and at your house, too!
We had plenty of snow this passed weekend and my other Daddy Jim tells me he heard we are having more the this weekend ~~~~ OK I guess I have to accept it that this is a snowy winter unlike the last 3 years!!
Miss Sophie must be in doodle paradise with all that snow. Be safe out there and don't forget to come in and warm up from time to time. Even Tigger Doodles get cold, ya know.
I thank you so much for this ~~~~ Kendall and Gretchen ~~~~ blogging awards are very special because passing the love around ~~~ well ~~~ just makes the world that much more happier!
Hi Sophie! Now it's my turn to be catching up! You look like you are having a blast in the new snow. Your action pictures are wonderful ~ kudos to your photographer! And I love the Pooh stories still!
I was just going back through my most recent posts to check for new comments and found one from Ron that I had missed. So, if you don't mind Sophie, I'm going to reply to Ron's comment here, so he doesn't have to go back to the old post.
Ron was talking about my stylin' in my plaid cuffed 50s denims. !'m hopeless, Sophie! I didn't even notice the plaid cuffs until Ron pointed them out. I am so not a fashionista, although I'm trying to pay more attention. Now Ron! He's always been stylin', but I guess I'm not telling you anything you don't know ~ right Sophie?
Ron and I probably ran into each other working in the library and have just forgotten that apparently unmomentous moment! Yes I do remember Miss Wickwire ~ who could forget her? Right now the name of the head of the reference department has flown from my mind, but she was the aunt of Warren Beatty and Shirley MacLaine. Now trying to remember her name is going to drive me nuts, because I know it very well since she was my boss.
CAT means Calgary Amateur Theatre. My sister Barb has done a lot of community theatre work in Calgary. From acting and singing, to set design and set building, to lights, stage management, and a little directing. She is very talented. Barb also paints and writes. Roy (artist/journalist) is the petroleum engineer for Kufpec, the Kuwaiti national oil company. Only he's much more than an engineer. He is now in charge of multiple continents and very high up in management. Donnie (pianist) is a oil and gas lawyer, who right now is working on the oil sands. Throughout her career she has been VP of this and that, but now she is job sharing so she can have a life. I'm the writer/photographer who was a union activist as well as teacher.
So I hope this clears up everything for Ron! I'm glad that he is enjoying delving into the past!
You've got me thinking who the reference dept head was too...I know she must have been a MacLean and I know Mom mentioned her name many a time. Shirley Maclaine came back to Acadia Univ. back in 1985 for Doctorate. I'm Googling it now.
Your sibs are all so talented....very fortunate...speaking of which to you remember Jack Sherrif? Drama dept!I used to act in the summer plays in 1960 thanks to Peter C. He got me interested.
The cold is getting the best of me so I'll cut it short here.
Life has thrown more curves our way so I'll sign off now.
Not more curves, Ron! Sorry about your cold hanging on ~ I'm finally past mine. No more asthma inhaler and I swam today!
Jack Sherrif is ringing a bell. I used to go to a lot of the productions when I was in grade 8. When Mom took her education degree and finished her B.A. in 1967, she was the prop mistress for the summer season.
I may be the only geologist to go through Acadia with enough credits in theatre for a minor! But most of my courses were with Evelyn Garbary.
I played 3 different ants in "Pictures from the Insects' Life" by Karel Čapek and Josef Čapek. I did costumes and body makeup for "A Funny Think Happened on the Way to the Forum." I painted a costume for Oceanus in "Prometheus Bound" that people thought was awesome. I directed (with Evelyn's help), "Christ in the Concrete City" which played twice in the chapel at Easter. Prof. Gmeiner got one of his organ students to play an introduction before each of the performances. I also did minor, grunt things for my classmates' various productions. Lots of fun! But then my theater days were over.
Can you see why my brother calls me a butterfly when he's not calling me weasel?
Hey Sophie! I forgot to say how sorry I am that Ron has a cold! I hope you're snuggling up to him, keeping him warm, and giving him lots of sympathy. Colds are no fun ~~~ They just go on and on!
